The iconic theme song, composed by John Tesh, will once again pump through speakers when NBC resumes its NBA coverage in October, bringing back the ‘90s vibes fans have been begging for.

???? John Tesh Is Fired Up For NBA Comeback

TMZ Sports caught up with Tesh in Los Angeles last week, where he couldn’t hide his excitement about the song’s long-awaited revival.

“It’s fun for me,” Tesh said with a grin. “The song is 30 years old. I can’t wait for it to come back. And if I had a keyboard, I’d play it for you!”

“Roundball Rock” was the soundtrack of NBA action in the 1990s, becoming a cultural phenomenon during NBC’s basketball broadcasts. However, when NBC lost NBA rights about 20 years ago, the beloved melody disappeared from fans’ living rooms.

Now, thanks to NBC’s new deal with Commissioner Adam Silver, the network is bringing the classic tune back — and it sounds like Tesh’s original version will take center stage.

Tesh revealed he’s experimented with a few remixes of “Roundball Rock” over the years, but in his conversation with TMZ, he hinted that the OG version will reign supreme when the NBA tips off this fall.
