Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage and his Leading By Example Foundation brought holiday cheer to over 1,000 local families during their sixth annual toy giveaway on Saturday at The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center in Atlanta.
Partnering with DeKalb County, the event provided more than 3,000 toys, clothing items, bicycles, food, and other gifts to families in need. Congressman Hank Johnson and Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson honored 21 Savage during the event, presenting him with four proclamations and two community service awards.
One of the proclamations officially designated December 21 as “21 Savage Leading By Example Day” in DeKalb County, recognizing the rapper’s significant contributions to the community.
A Year of Service for the Community
The holiday giveaway is part of a larger pattern of community engagement by 21 Savage and his foundation. Earlier this year, the foundation hosted the “Issa Back to School Drive” and introduced the first-ever Leading By Example Social Impact Village, a project supported by Amazon Access.
The Social Impact Village highlighted Atlanta-based nonprofits, including the Decatur-DeKalb branch of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and Wealthy Habits, focusing on uplifting and empowering local communities.
21 Savage’s Atlanta Top Five
In other news, 21 Savage shared his personal list of the top five rappers from Atlanta during an interview on Deep Cuts with Vic Blends. While sitting in the barber’s chair, 21 stated confidently:
“I’m number one, based off of lyrics. J.I.D. number two. (Young) Thug, number three. (Lil) Baby, number four. Pluto [Future], number five.”
The list sparked conversations among fans and critics, adding to the rapper’s already strong presence in the music scene and his community.
Making an Impact Beyond Music
21 Savage’s dedication to giving back and uplifting his hometown reflects his commitment to being a positive force both in and out of the music industry. From supporting families during the holidays to empowering students through back-to-school initiatives, 21 continues to lead by example.
