Ugandan music legend Abdul Mulasi has revealed that renowned artists Eddy Kenzo and Fik Fameica have reached out to him, expressing their interest in revamping some of his most iconic songs from the early 2000s. The singer confirmed that both artists have requested permission to remake two of his biggest hits: “Farm” and “Swimming Pool” respectively.

Mulasi, a household name in Uganda’s music scene, expressed openness to the idea, stating that he is more than willing to work with the two established musicians on these projects. However, he made it clear that he is selective about who gets to re-do his classic hits.

“For a certain time now, several fellow artists have been reaching out to me, requesting permission to redo my old songs,” Mulasi disclosed. “Fik Fameica and Eddy Kenzo personally contacted me, asking to remake ‘Farm’ and ‘Swimming Pool,’ respectively. When superstars of their caliber request to redo your songs, I believe it is only right to permit them. I will be working with them on these projects.”

Why Mulasi Prefers Established Artists for Revamps

Mulasi further elaborated on his decision-making process, emphasizing that he only allows experienced and proven musicians to remake his work. His reasoning? To preserve the originality and essence of his songs while ensuring they are not altered in a way that diminishes their impact.

“I only permit established and proven artists to redo my songs because I fear that rising stars might not do them justice,” he explained. “These songs hold sentimental value and were pivotal to my success, so I want to ensure that any remake maintains their legacy.”

This decision reflects Mulasi’s deep respect for his own artistry and his dedication to maintaining high musical standards in the industry.

Mulasi’s Influence in the Music Industry

Aside from his personal projects, Abdul Mulasi has played a significant role in shaping Uganda’s music industry. Over the years, he has mentored and supported several artists, helping them achieve their musical dreams. Among those he has guided are Ricardo Omuto and Kazibwe Kapo, both of whom credit him as a key figure in their rise to stardom.

“I have always had a passion for supporting young talent,” Mulasi stated. “Seeing people I have helped reach great heights in music is one of my biggest joys.”

Introducing the Next Generation: Mulasi’s Children Enter the Music Industry

In addition to his contributions to other artists’ careers, Abdul Mulasi recently made a personal revelation—he is now paving the way for his own children to enter the music business. He used the opportunity to officially introduce his son to the industry, giving him the go-ahead to pursue his passion for music.

“I have spent years helping others achieve their dreams. Now, it is time to support my own,” he shared.

Mulasi also revealed that his musical legacy is set to continue through his family, as three of his biological children have shown interest in following in his footsteps. Among them, his daughter Fatuma and her younger sibling have expressed a strong desire to pursue music, and he is more than willing to support them on this journey.

What’s Next? A Nostalgic Yet Modern Revival of Mulasi’s Classics

With Fik Fameica and Eddy Kenzo set to breathe new life into his timeless hits, fans can expect an exciting blend of nostalgia and modern musical elements. Both artists have a track record of creating chart-topping hits and are known for their ability to blend traditional Ugandan music with contemporary sounds. This collaboration has the potential to introduce Mulasi’s music to a whole new generation of listeners.

While no release dates have been confirmed yet, the anticipation is already building among fans eager to hear the revamped versions of “Farm” and “Swimming Pool.”

As Uganda’s entertainment industry continues to evolve, Abdul Mulasi remains a key player, ensuring that both past and future generations of artists contribute meaningfully to the country’s rich musical heritage.
