Roberta Flack’s Walk of Fame Star Was Approved 25 Years Ago—So Where Is It?
The legendary Roberta Flack was selected for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 1999, but over two decades later, it still hasn’t been placed on the iconic boulevard. Now, following her passing at age 88, fans are wondering—what happened?
Why Roberta’s Star Was Never Installed
Ana Martinez, a representative from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, told TMZ that while Flack was approved for a star, she never finalized a date for the official ceremony. Without that crucial step, the honor was never realized.
Now, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is hoping Flack’s family will reach out to schedule a posthumous ceremony. However, due to a packed schedule, the earliest available dates won’t be until after 2025.
Not the First Missing Star
This situation isn’t unique to Roberta Flack. Music icon Whitney Houston also had her star approved but never locked in a date for the unveiling, leaving her name absent from the famed sidewalk.
