Charles Dion McDowell, the infamous ‘Wide Neck’ Internet Sensation, Arrested on Serious Felony Charges Involving Minors
Charles Dion McDowell, better known as the viral internet personality “Wide Neck,” has found himself in more legal trouble, but this time, the charges are much more severe. McDowell was arrested on February 19 in Cherokee County, Georgia, and is facing multiple felony charges related to the transmission of sexually explicit material without consent and the electronic furnishing of obscene material to minors.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, McDowell allegedly sent explicit videos and images of a woman to her 13-year-old son, 16-year-old daughter, her mother, and another individual on multiple occasions. These actions led to his arrest, and he is currently being held without bond.
The Charges and Investigation Details
McDowell is facing charges of felony transmission of video or photo of nudity without consent, electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor, and making harassing phone calls. While the sheriff’s office has not released specific details of the crimes, citing Georgia laws surrounding child abuse cases, the seriousness of the charges is undeniable.
McDowell, whose mugshot went viral due to his distinctive and large neck, was arrested following an investigation into the explicit material being shared electronically.
McDowell’s Previous Run-ins with the Law
This arrest marks yet another chapter in McDowell’s troubled history with the law. He initially gained widespread attention in 2017 after a mugshot featuring his tree-trunk-sized neck went viral. The mugshot followed a reckless driving incident in Lee County, Alabama, where McDowell allegedly attempted to flee from officers. His mugshot, featuring his signature smile and massive neck, quickly turned him into a viral sensation.
