LSU gymnastics superstar and social media icon Livvy Dunne has suffered an avulsion fracture of her patella, forcing her to sit out of the Tigers’ Senior Night showdown against No. 10 Georgia on Friday.
Dunne, 22, shared the heartbreaking update on her Instagram Stories just a day before the highly anticipated event, expressing her disappointment over missing the chance to compete at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC) one last time.
“It absolutely breaks my heart not to get the opportunity to compete in the PMAC one last time,” Dunne wrote, thanking fans for their unwavering support throughout her time at LSU.
A Legacy Beyond Gymnastics
Dunne, who joined the LSU gymnastics team in 2020, took advantage of her fifth year of eligibility, famously stating last year that she wasn’t “Dunne yet.” Despite this injury setback, her influence stretches far beyond the mat.
With over 5 million Instagram followers, the NIL trailblazer has landed endorsement deals with top brands, was featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit (2023 & 2024), and even made the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list. She previously revealed that she has earned over $500K from a single social media post.
What’s Next for Dunne?
While this may mark the end of her NCAA gymnastics career, Dunne’s impact will continue both in sports and entertainment. From dominating the gymnastics scene to redefining athlete branding, she’s solidified herself as one of the most recognizable figures in college sports.
