In a recent episode of Talk With Flee, Cam’ron shared a story from his past where Suge Knight allegedly tried to extort him over the use of Tupac Shakur‘s iconic track “Ambitionz Az a Ridah.” The incident occurred during the creation of Cam’ron’s third album Come Home With Me, specifically over the song “Live My Life (Leave Me Alone),” which sampled the classic Tupac beat.

According to Cam, the interaction wasn’t as intense as one might think. He recalled a conversation that began aggressively but ended amicably. “It wasn’t a tough situation; it was more of a conversation that got a little aggressive, and then it wasn’t aggressive,” Cam explained.

The Confrontation with Suge Knight

The confrontation took place outside the Sentry Club in Los Angeles, where Suge Knight approached Cam’ron and his crew, stating, “Yo, you owe me money.” Cam responded in confusion, asking, “Owe you money? For what?” Suge then revealed that Cam had used a beat that Knight claimed ownership of. He was referring to the “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” track, which was produced by Daz Dillinger, but Knight insisted that Daz didn’t own the rights, claiming that he did.

Cam’ron, not backing down, clarified that Daz had actually played the beat for him in the studio. “I don’t owe you anything,” Cam recalled saying. Suge laughed it off and made it clear that Daz had no control over the beat, eventually retreating from the altercation and telling Cam, “Don’t even worry about it, little homie. We good, it’s all good.”

Cam’ron’s 2019 Track “Fast Lane” Recounts the Story

Cam’ron previously addressed the encounter on his 2019 track “Fast Lane,” detailing the tense situation and hinting that his friend Tito was ready for a physical confrontation. The rapper rapped, “Tito flicked his knife, he was ready to go to death row,” referring to his friend’s readiness to escalate the situation. However, Cam emphasized that the situation was resolved calmly in the end, saying, “Everything I say is truth, I put that on my mommy.”

Despite the tension, it seems Cam’ron and Suge Knight ultimately parted ways on better terms, with Suge assuring Cam that all was forgiven.
