Kevin Liles, a powerful figure in the hip-hop industry and former Def Jam Recordings executive, is preparing to fight back against a sexual assault lawsuit filed earlier this year.
According to newly filed legal documents obtained by TMZ, Liles has asked for permission to formally file a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, which stems from alleged incidents dating back to 2002. The woman, who filed the suit under the pseudonym Jane Doe, claims Liles sexually harassed and raped her during her time working under him at Def Jam.
Liles’ legal team argues that the statute of limitations has expired, making the claims legally invalid. He also asserts that the lawsuit is “entirely false” and lacks sufficient detail to move forward in court.
Liles claims the accuser’s allegations are vague and unsupported, and says he plans to challenge the case’s legitimacy on those grounds.
Background of the Case
As previously reported, the lawsuit filed in February 2025 alleges that Liles routinely made inappropriate physical contact with the woman at work — pressing his body against her and grabbing her buttocks — and that when she rejected his alleged advances, he raped her.
