Rapper X-Raided, who shared a prison cell with the Menendez Brothers, Erik and Lyle, has revealed that the siblings remain “cautiously optimistic” about their chances of gaining freedom, despite a recent setback in their legal battle.
During an appearance in Los Angeles on Friday, X-Raided, whose real name is Anerae Brown, was asked about the Menendez brothers’ current state following a delay in their resentencing hearing. Originally scheduled for this week, the hearing has been postponed until next month. X-Raided, who forged a strong bond with Erik and Lyle while incarcerated together, shared that the brothers are taking the delay in stride and are still hopeful.
He described the Menendez family as “wonderful people” and shared some personal experiences with Erik and Lyle during their time behind bars. Despite their conviction for the 1989 murders of their parents, the rapper emphasized the brothers’ enduring optimism and commitment to fighting for their freedom.

In addition to discussing the brothers’ outlook, X-Raided provided an update on the health of Erik and Lyle’s 85-year-old aunt, Terry Baralt, who was recently hospitalized after suffering an emotional distress reaction during court proceedings. Baralt reportedly needed medical attention after crime scene photos were shown in court, an event that clearly affected her deeply.
