Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a wave of horrifying allegations as his federal trial begins. In opening statements delivered on Monday, May 12, prosecutors painted a disturbing picture of Diddy’s alleged treatment of his former partner, singer and model Cassie Ventura, during their 11-year relationship.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson, Diddy subjected Ventura to a pattern of sexual exploitation, physical abuse, and psychological torment—including alleged “freak-offs” involving third parties and degrading acts.
One shocking allegation presented in court claims that during one of these so-called “freak-offs,” Diddy ordered a male escort to urinate in Cassie Ventura’s mouth.
“She said she felt like she was choking,” Johnson told the court, describing Cassie’s emotional and physical distress during the incident.
These extreme allegations are part of a broader case accusing Diddy of engaging in a years-long pattern of abuse, manipulation, and violence—both behind closed doors and in retaliation when he suspected Cassie was romantically involved with other men.
Prosecutors Say Diddy Reacted With Violence Over Cassie’s Alleged Romance
Assistant U.S. Attorney Johnson recounted a specific incident in which Diddy allegedly flew into a rage after learning that Cassie might have been seeing another man.
“Furious, he set out to find her,” Johnson stated. “He said he would kill the man.”
According to prosecutors, Diddy allegedly broke into the man’s home, intent on confronting him—but was unable to find him. In his rage, he instead turned his attention to Cassie, allegedly finding and “brutally” assaulting her.
“He kicked her in the back and tossed her around like a rag doll,” Johnson said.
These disturbing claims further bolster accusations Cassie made in a now-settled 2023 civil lawsuit, where she accused Combs of rape, physical abuse, and trafficking her to other men for sex during their long-term relationship.
A Pattern of Abuse?
While this federal trial is not directly tied to the civil suit Cassie filed, the prosecution appears to be using past allegations to establish a consistent pattern of abuse and coercive behavior by the music executive.
The U.S. government’s case reportedly includes dozens of witnesses and extensive documentation, including video evidence and testimonies from insiders who worked closely with Combs during the height of his career.
The trial, which is being closely followed by the public and media outlets worldwide, threatens to permanently tarnish Diddy’s legacy in music, fashion, and entertainment.
Fallout and Industry Reaction
The allegations have already sparked major backlash. Combs has lost brand partnerships, faced boycotts, and been publicly condemned by fellow entertainers and former collaborators.
As the trial continues, many are bracing for more unsettling revelations as prosecutors aim to reveal what they describe as years of concealed abuse, power dynamics, and manipulation within Combs’ private and professional life.
