Vinessa Shaw, best known for her iconic role as Allison in the cult classic “Hocus Pocus”, is headed for divorce. TMZ has confirmed that her husband, Kristopher Gifford, filed legal documents on Thursday to officially end their marriage after nearly a decade.
According to court filings obtained by TMZ, Gifford cited the standard “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. He listed their date of separation as October 24, 2023 — indicating the couple has been living apart for over a year and a half.
Custody and Support Details
Gifford is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old son, Jack. Interestingly, he did not request any spousal support in the filing.
The couple tied the knot in 2017 but had been together for a decade before walking down the aisle. Their relationship began in 2007, and they got engaged in 2008.
A Look Back at Vinessa Shaw’s Career
Shaw is fondly remembered for playing Allison Watts, Max Dennison’s love interest, in Disney’s 1993 Halloween hit “Hocus Pocus.” However, she did not reprise her role in the 2022 sequel.
Beyond Hocus Pocus, Shaw has starred in a range of notable films, including “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006), “3:10 to Yuma,” “Eyes Wide Shut,” and the Rodney Dangerfield comedy “Ladybugs.”
We’ve reached out to Shaw’s representatives for comment regarding the divorce, but as of now, there has been no response.
