On Tuesday, the rapper-turned-entrepreneur joined Councilman Reggie Leon to officially break ground on what’s now being hailed as Miami Gardens’ first fully Black-owned shopping plaza—a project deeply rooted in community legacy and economic empowerment.

A $10 Million Investment Where It All Began

Located at 230 NW 183rd Street, the 27,813-square-foot Cloverleaf Shopping Plaza sits just blocks from where Flo Rida—real name Tramar Dillard—was raised. Purchased in 2023 for $10 million through his company Strong Arm Management, the plaza is already home to beloved local businesses like:

  • Cloverleaf Beauty Supply
  • Creole Kitchen
  • Boost Mobile
  • Top Notch Cigars

The project, however, is about much more than storefronts.

“This is about giving back to the community that gave me everything,” Flo Rida said during the groundbreaking ceremony.

A Cultural Hub and Economic Catalyst

Surrounded by city officials, residents, and small business owners, Flo Rida shared his vision of turning the plaza into a vibrant cultural hub for Black entrepreneurship. The event marked a major moment for a city that has long been underserved in mainstream economic development.

Mayor Rodney Harris praised the initiative, calling it:

“A partnership that creates jobs, opportunities, and proof that dreams can be realized.”

More Than Business: A Mission for Generational Wealth

This venture represents a growing trend of artists investing in their roots, using fame and fortune to fuel change. For Flo Rida, the Cloverleaf project is personal—a mission to bring resources, visibility, and ownership to Miami Gardens.

His longtime friend and business partner Lee “Freezy” Prince, who co-financed the purchase, was also present. The two met at Carol City Middle and High Schools, and their friendship has now evolved into a shared legacy.

“We started this together, and we never stopped giving back,” Flo Rida said with emotion.

A Symbol of Restoration and Resilience

In a city often left out of major development projects, the Cloverleaf Shopping Plaza is a bold declaration of self-determination. It’s not just a real estate deal—it’s a symbol of pride, restoration, and forward motion for the people of Miami Gardens.

As Flo Rida continues to redefine what it means to be a hip-hop mogul, his latest project sends a clear message:

“Ownership is power—and giving back is the biggest flex of all.”
