As Sean “Diddy” Combs’ high-profile federal criminal trial winds down in New York City, a familiar face from his past has emerged—Lawanda “Lala” Lane, the best friend of the late Kim Porter, is speaking out and standing by Diddy’s character.
In an emotional on-camera interview outside the Manhattan courthouse on Monday, Lala passionately defended Diddy, claiming the narrative surrounding Cassie and Jane Doe is incomplete—and unfairly damaging.
“They weren’t victims,” she declared. “They were along for the ride—until they weren’t.”

Lala says she had a front-row seat to the infamous Diddy love triangles, particularly during Kim Porter’s pregnancies. She insists both Cassie and Jane Doe were willing participants, not hostages or victims of manipulation.
According to Lala, Jane Doe was the one chasing Diddy, not the other way around.
“She didn’t want to let go. Diddy dumped her so many times, and she just wouldn’t take the hint,” Lala said.
She even claims Diddy’s children begged their father to cut ties with Jane because of her erratic behavior.
“When baby Love was born, Jane lost it—but during the relationship, she was all in.”
Cassie’s Entry Into the Picture: “She Slid In”
Lala also opened up about Cassie’s timeline in the Diddy saga, saying she entered the picture while Kim was pregnant with the twins, D’Lila and Jessie, who just graduated high school this year.
“I stood next to Kim through all of it. And I can tell you—Cassie knew exactly what she was doing,” Lala stated.
She emphasized that at no point did she ever see Diddy force, trap, or mistreat Cassie or Jane Doe in the ways they’ve publicly claimed.
“There Were Wrongs on Both Sides”
Despite her defense of Diddy, Lala didn’t let him off the hook entirely.
“I’m not saying Diddy was perfect,” she admitted. “He had his flaws. But the court only heard one side of the story. There were wrongs on both sides, and a lot of that was conveniently left out of testimony.”

According to Lala, Diddy has stayed grounded during the emotionally draining proceedings by reading his Bible and spending private time with his children and close friends as jury deliberations began.
“He was apologetic. Really apologetic. He knows he put his family through it. But he’s facing it like a man.”

When asked how Kim Porter—the mother of three of Diddy’s children—would react to everything happening now, Lala didn’t hesitate.
“Kim didn’t play. She had her issues with Puff, but she checked him in private, never in public,” she said.
“She wouldn’t support this smear campaign—but she also wouldn’t stay silent if she felt something was wrong.”
