Fivio Foreign is officially a free man.
After spending nearly seven months behind bars, the “City of Gods” rapper was released from a New Jersey jail on August 1, TMZ Hip Hop confirms. A Bergen County judge sentenced the Brooklyn drill artist to time served and 3 years of probation—sparing him what could have been a 5-to-20-year prison sentence.
🔫 The Charges That Landed Him in Jail
Back in January, Fivio was arrested in Edgewater, New Jersey, following an incident where he was accused of pulling a gun on a woman. The charges quickly escalated, and he eventually pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats.
Facing a mandatory minimum of five years due to his prior record, things were looking rough for the Brooklyn native. But after 196 days in custody, the judge granted him time served.
⚖️ Probation Terms Laid Out
Fivio’s release doesn’t come without strings. As part of his three-year probation, the rapper is required to:
- Stay out of legal trouble—no new arrests or charges
- Submit to drug testing and remain clean
- Avoid violating any conditions set by the court
According to his attorney Adam Lustberg, avoiding prison time altogether was a major win considering the original sentencing guidelines.

📉 Music on Pause… But for How Long?
Before his arrest, Fivio was one of the most prominent voices in NYC’s drill movement, collabing with the likes of Kanye West, Alicia Keys, and Lil Tjay.
But since November 2024, he’s been radio silent musically, with no new singles or projects dropped during his jail time. Meanwhile, the city’s rap scene has evolved—pushing more “sexy drill” vibes à la Ice Spice and viral bootlegs.
The question now: Can Fivio reclaim his spot in the game? Or has the culture moved on without him?
