It looks like Captain Jack Sparrow might be coming back to the big screen — if Johnny Depp approves the script. Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed the actor seems open to reprising his iconic role in a sixth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film.
“If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it. It’s all about what’s on the page, as we all know,” Bruckheimer told Entertainment Weekly.
A Complicated Comeback
While Johnny seems interested, there’s more to consider than just the script. Disney owns the franchise, and the studio famously cut ties with Depp during the high-profile Amber Heard controversy. Any return would likely require the two sides to rebuild their relationship first.
Despite past conflicts, there’s no denying Depp is the face of the franchise. His “Pirates” films have grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide, making him integral to the series’ success.

Script in the Works
Bruckheimer says the new script is nearly complete, which could pave the way for Johnny’s possible return. Fans have been clamoring for a comeback, and many hope this could finally reunite the actor with his most iconic role.
“It’s always about the story and whether Johnny feels it’s right,” Bruckheimer added.
Bottom Line
While nothing is confirmed, the idea of Depp sailing back into the “Pirates” universe has fans buzzing. If the script hits the mark and Disney gives the green light, Captain Jack Sparrow may be making waves once again on the high seas.
