A devastating tragedy has rocked the Newsmax family after Travis Renee Baldwin, a longtime makeup artist for anchor Greta Van Susteren, was fatally shot in Virginia over the weekend.
Police say Baldwin’s son, Logan Chrisinger, is the one who pulled the trigger. The shocking incident has left her family, colleagues, and the journalism world in mourning.
Family Shares Heartbreaking New Details
UPDATE — 12:07 PM PT: A family source tells TMZ that Baldwin left her home around 3:20 AM on Sunday after receiving a desperate FaceTime call from her son.
During the call, Chrisinger reportedly threatened suicide and flashed a gun at his mother, begging for help. Baldwin, being the devoted mom she was, rushed to his Arlington apartment to be by his side.
The family says Chrisinger had been struggling with serious mental health issues, including threats toward Baldwin herself. At one point, he allegedly told her he hoped she would die.
Recently, Chrisinger’s struggles worsened — he lost his job and was terrified he’d also lose his apartment, leaving him under intense emotional strain.
Baldwin’s family remembers her as a selfless and loving mother to both Logan and her daughter, Adrianna. They say she lived for her children, her beloved dog Kai, and the job she adored.
“She would have done anything for her kids,” a family member shared.
Funeral plans have not yet been announced.

Police Respond to Tragic Shooting
According to the Arlington County Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:30 AM Sunday after reports of gunfire inside an Arlington apartment.
When officers arrived, they found Baldwin suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a local hospital but sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Chrisinger was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with:
- Murder
- Aggravated malicious wounding
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
He is currently being held without bond in the Arlington County Jail.
