A$AP Rocky is proving once again that fashion knows no boundaries—especially in his household with Rihanna.
During a revealing appearance on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast on Thursday, May 1, the Harlem rapper openly confessed to borrowing—more like stealing—pieces from Rihanna’s wardrobe. And according to him, he doesn’t feel even slightly guilty about it.
“Man, pardon my language, I do what the f— I want,” Rocky said confidently. “I want to represent. I want to be a catalyst for daring men.”
The rapper, known for his bold and genre-bending style, challenged the traditional lines drawn between masculinity and femininity in fashion.
“I don’t know who drew the line between femininity and masculinity, but I don’t see any barriers for me.”
Equal Closet Rights?
Rocky went on to explain that if Rihanna has free reign to pull from his closet, the same rules should apply the other way around.
“It’s not fair that my girl can just go in my closet and take anything and wear it,” he said. “That goes both ways. She has pieces she doesn’t even know I actually stole. You get what I’m saying?”
While he might be swiping from one of the most iconic wardrobes in the world, A$AP insists it’s only fair—especially because Rihanna does it, too.
“Sometimes I’ll see her in an interview or in a paparazzi shot and I’m like, ‘Wait. There goes my Miu Miu f—— jacket! I’ve been looking for that since 2021!’ And it’s like, okay. I gotchu. Bet.”
Redefining Masculinity Through Fashion
For Rocky, who’s been praised for his high-fashion looks, wearing what he wants isn’t about shock value—it’s about reclaiming style narratives for men, especially Black men.
“Kilts, babushkas, pearls—those are things the Moors wore. If you know anything about the Moors, that’s literally what they had on,” he explained. “These were styles that were meant to be emasculated, to look feminine, but they started with African men.”
By embracing traditionally “feminine” fashion, Rocky says he’s continuing that cultural legacy and breaking outdated stereotypes.
