In a terrifying twist of fate, a passenger aboard the Air India Boeing 787-8 that later crashed in flames captured video footage just hours before the deadly incident — exposing major system failures mid-flight.

The haunting footage has since gone viral, showing everything from flickering screens and non-responsive service buttons to complete electrical failure onboard the doomed aircraft. Tragically, the plane would later plunge to the ground in a fiery explosion, killing everyone on board — except for one lone survivor.

“I Knew Something Was Wrong” — Passenger’s Ominous Warning

The viral video was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Indian passenger Akash Vatsa (@akku92), who had flown on the exact same aircraft — call sign VT-ANB — earlier that day from Delhi to Ahmedabad.

Akash shared an unsettling post revealing that multiple basic systems failed during his flight. In the video, he tries pressing the service button above his seat — nothing works. The air conditioning appears to be off, screens are black, and the interior cabin seems eerily lifeless.

“I took this video to expose Air India’s poor maintenance,” he wrote. “Everything was failing. TV screens dead, service buttons unresponsive, even the AC wasn’t working.”

To confirm the timeline, Akash even flashed his boarding pass, proving he was on that exact aircraft — just hours before it was scheduled to fly a longer route from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, UK.

The Same Jet Later Crashed — One Survivor, Dozens Dead

Tragically, the same aircraft that Akash warned about — VT-ANB — crashed and exploded mid-flight, only hours after he disembarked. Eyewitnesses describe a harrowing scene as the jet went down, erupting into a fireball.

Every passenger onboard died, except for one survivor, whose identity and condition have yet to be released. The crash site is now under lockdown, with Indian and international aviation authorities launching an emergency investigation.

Footage from the ground, showing the horrifying moment of impact, has already circulated online — a grim reminder that this may have been preventable.

Boeing Under Fire (Again): Red Flags Were Flying

This deadly Air India crash is once again putting Boeing at the center of global scrutiny, especially following a string of disturbing incidents involving its aircraft.

Earlier this year, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max made headlines when a metal door plug blew off mid-flight, forcing an emergency landing. Though no one was seriously injured in that incident, the near-miss raised serious concerns about the quality control at Boeing.

Former Boeing quality manager John Barnett even went public with bold claims in January 2024 — speaking out on TMZ Live.

“They are removing quality from the process,” Barnett said. “It’s a ticking time bomb.”

That “ticking” may have just exploded over India.

Air India Facing Backlash: “They Ignored the Warnings”

While Boeing remains under global investigation, Air India itself is also facing severe backlash — with many accusing the airline of ignoring glaring red flags.

Akash’s video is now being treated as potential evidence. Aviation watchdogs are asking: Why was the aircraft cleared to fly internationally after experiencing serious power failures just hours earlier?

Air India has yet to comment on the situation or explain why VT-ANB was allowed to continue operations. Social media users, however, are calling it “corporate negligence” and demanding accountability.

“This isn’t just an unfortunate accident. It’s a failure of systems — from the airline to the manufacturer to the regulators,” one user posted on Reddit.

Boeing’s Troubles Continue to Mount

This isn’t an isolated issue for Boeing. The aircraft manufacturer has been dealing with a storm of controversies, lawsuits, and whistleblower complaints in recent years.

Here’s a quick rundown of major Boeing incidents in the past five years:

  • 2023: Alaska Airlines flight loses panel midair — emergency landing.
  • 2021: Boeing 737 Max grounding extended globally due to safety concerns.
  • 2018–2019: Two fatal crashes (Lion Air & Ethiopian Airlines) involving 737 Max killed 346 people, leading to the worldwide grounding of the Max fleet.
  • Ongoing: Multiple whistleblower accounts have described a “culture of silence” at Boeing where production speed is prioritized over safety.

Despite repeated promises to reform, the pattern of errors and deadly consequences continues — and with this latest crash in India, calls for deeper investigations are only growing louder.

Aviation Experts Speak Out

Aviation analyst Pranav Shah weighed in during a recent CNN segment, warning that what happened in India might not be an isolated incident.

“When passengers are capturing system failures on video, and those planes are still being flown, it signals a breakdown in safety protocols.”

Other experts say that real-time maintenance reporting and transparent inspections must become mandatory before every international flight — especially on long-haul Boeing aircraft.

Social Media Reacts: Anger, Grief, and Outrage

X (Twitter), Instagram, and Reddit exploded with reactions to Akash’s video and the deadly crash. The mix of shock, grief, and anger is palpable.

💬 “Boeing is out of control. These planes are literal death traps.”
💬 “Akash warned them. Why didn’t anyone act on this??”
💬 “That poor lone survivor… how do you even process that trauma?”
💬 “Never flying Air India again. Period.”

While investigators begin picking through the wreckage for answers, the public’s demand for transparency is at an all-time high.

What Happens Next?

As the world mourns the victims of this horrific crash, all eyes are on the investigation that could reshape aviation policy in both India and abroad.

Key developments we’re watching:

  • Will Air India face legal consequences for continuing to operate a failing aircraft?
  • Will Boeing issue a statement, and will global regulators force another round of fleet groundings?
  • Can Akash Vatsa’s video become a catalyst for major reform in aviation safety?

Final Thoughts: A Warning That Came Too Late?

Akash Vatsa’s footage might have been dismissed as just another frustrated passenger rant — until it became a haunting prelude to disaster.

With only one person surviving, the questions left behind are chilling:

Could this crash have been prevented?
Are airlines playing roulette with passengers’ lives?
And how many more warnings will it take before real change happens?
