Singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine, born Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, recently shared the personal motivations that led him to pursue a law course at university. Speaking during Council Elias Nalukoola’s campaign rally for the Kawempe North MP by-election, Bobi revealed that he was inspired by his childhood colleagues, including fellow singer Sylver Kyagulanyi and Nalukoola, to further his studies.
Inspired by Childhood Friends and Fellow Artists
Bobi Wine disclosed that his decision to return to school and study law was influenced by the examples set by his peers. He particularly credited Sylver Kyagulanyi, who had originally planned to pursue a course in Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) before opting for a law degree at Makerere University, from which he successfully graduated.
“When I decided to return to studies to pursue a course in law, it was because I had been inspired by my childhood colleagues, including Council Elias Nalukoola and Sylver Kyagulanyi, among others,” Bobi said.
Shaped by Experiences with Nalukoola
Bobi Wine also spoke about how his journey alongside people like Council Elias Nalukoola has shaped him into the person he is today. He expressed gratitude for their influence and guidance, which he believes has played a crucial role in his personal and professional growth.
Encouraging the Youth to Dream Big
In his speech, Bobi Wine encouraged the youth of Uganda to never stop dreaming and to always strive for their goals. He emphasized that the younger generation holds the key to the future of the nation, urging them to remain focused and determined.
