Cam’ron is setting the record straight on long-standing rumors about his alleged romance with Mariah Carey. Despite past speculation—fueled by a throwback photo he posted in 2023 with the caption “I’m the friend you shouldn’t worry about”—the Dipset rapper insists that their relationship has always been strictly platonic.
On the latest episode of his YouTube show, Talk With Flee, Cam’ron clarified his bond with the pop icon.
“She’s a friend. She’s a good friend. It’s nothing less or nothing more than that. She’s a super-duper good friend,” he said. “We were never together. We were never a couple, nothing like that.”
Cam’ron & Mariah: A Friendship Rooted in Music
Cam’ron explained that Carey was a fan of his music, which led to their collaboration on “Boy (I Need You).” Their friendship blossomed from there, with the singer introducing him to Aspen’s festive holiday scene and taking him on luxurious trips.
“Honestly, Mariah’s the first person who made me realize that it was festive in Aspen about 20-something years ago,” he recalled. “She took me to Capri, to Italy. She took me to a lot of different places. Thank you for helping me experience some things at a young age that I do for fun now.”
While Carey owns multiple Dipset chains, Cam’ron dismissed any suggestion that they were given in exchange for intimacy.
Mariah’s Influence on Hip-Hop
The Harlem rapper also praised Mariah Carey’s impact on hip-hop, crediting her for integrating rap into mainstream pop music.
“People don’t give Mariah Carey a lot of credit for putting Hip Hop in her music and videos,” he said, highlighting her collaborations with Da Brat, The LOX, Ma$e, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and himself.
Mariah Carey & Anderson .Paak Dating Rumors
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey has been making headlines for a different reason—romance rumors with Anderson .Paak. The two were recently spotted holding hands in Aspen over the holidays, sparking speculation about a potential relationship.
With Cam’ron putting rumors to rest, it seems Mariah’s love life remains a topic of interest—but without a Dipset connection.
