Cassie Ventura’s legal team is firing back at Diddy’s claim that the recently surfaced hotel assault video was edited and manipulated.
Cassie’s Lawyer: ‘Diddy Will Be Held Accountable’
Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, told TMZ that Diddy’s attempt to discredit the video’s authenticity is nothing more than a desperate legal maneuver.
“It’s not surprising that he would make a disingenuous argument to exclude the disturbing video from being shown to the jury in the upcoming trial.”
Wigdor expressed full confidence that the footage would be admitted into evidence, stating:
“I am confident that the video fairly and accurately represents what happened, will be admitted into evidence, and he will be held accountable for his depravity.”
Diddy’s Legal Team Argues Video Was Manipulated
As previously reported, Diddy’s defense team is claiming that CNN—the network that aired the 2016 footage of Diddy violently attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway—destroyed the original video after allegedly editing and altering it.
His legal team argues that:
- CNN allegedly covered the timestamp on the footage.
- The video sequence was altered to make events appear in a different order.
- The footage was sped up to make it appear as though Diddy’s actions were more aggressive than in reality.
Diddy’s lawyers have filed legal documents seeking to exclude the footage from his upcoming federal trial, arguing that its authenticity is compromised.
Why the Video Matters in Court
Though Diddy is not being prosecuted for this particular assault, federal prosecutors aim to use the footage as evidence of his alleged history of violence, demonstrating a pattern of abusive behavior.
The Fight Over the Footage Continues
While Diddy’s team works to get the footage thrown out, Cassie’s legal camp remains confident that the video will stand as key evidence in court.
With both sides digging in, the question remains: Will the video be the turning point in Diddy’s case?
