Christine Nampeera Opens Up About Recovery Journey After Private Video Scandal
Ugandan influencer Christine Nampeera has broken her silence on how she coped with the public fallout following the leak of her private video in September 2023. The incident, which occurred at Kenji’s Bar and involved an intimate moment with her then-boyfriend, caused a media storm and subjected Nampeera to intense public scrutiny.
The 25-year-old revealed that the aftermath of the leaked video left her in a state of shock, prompting her to temporarily go offline and delete her online presence.
“I have healed. That doesn’t stop anything. I was helped by the support my mother gave me. My family held me down, but I also hated myself. I wasn’t suicidal, I didn’t want to kill myself, but I was in a state of shock—I totally became numb!” Nampeera shared.
Family Support During Tough Times
Despite losing her job and corporate influencing contracts, Nampeera says her family’s unwavering support was key to her recovery. Her mother and close relatives provided the emotional backing she needed to navigate the embarrassment and trauma caused by the video’s leak.
“There is no theory to it. I have healed, and I owe much of that to my family,” she added.

Nampeera’s story highlights the importance of family support and resilience in overcoming public humiliation. While the incident forced her offline temporarily, her candidness about the experience has resonated with many, sparking conversations about privacy, mental health, and cyberbullying.
