Pusha T and No Malice are giving fans the behind-the-scenes tea on what almost happened with their explosive new album, Let God Sort Em Out.
During a candid sit-down on The Joe Budden Podcast, the duo revealed that not only does Kendrick Lamar appear on the fiery track “Chains & Whips”, but there was nearly a second Kendrick feature in the works.
🎤 “He Wanted To Be On Both”
The topic came up when co-host Ice asked about Pusha’s previous hints at collaborating with Kendrick.
“I sent two songs—‘Chains & Whips’ and ‘So Be It’—to Kendrick,” Pusha shared.
“He wanted to be on both.”
Kendrick, fresh off a string of headline-making moments in his ongoing feud with Drake, reportedly returned a verse for Chains & Whips almost instantly. But the second track, So Be It, didn’t make it across the finish line—and it’s still unclear if Kendrick ever completed a verse for it.
🗣️ No Malice Praises Kendrick’s Focus
No Malice praised the Compton rapper’s ability to lock in, despite juggling beef with Drake and his own creative projects:
“Yo, but I think it’s a testament to his skill. In the middle of everything he was going through, [he] delivered not just a verse, but a verse like that. Top to bottom. Like, he went in.”
💥 Kendrick’s Verse Sparked Debate Online
Kendrick’s verse on Chains & Whips is already one of the most talked-about moments on Let God Sort Em Out. While fans are divided on its impact, there’s no denying it added a layer of intensity to an already hard-hitting track. Positioned early in the album’s tracklist, the record set the tone for a project packed with raw emotion, cutting lyricism, and no-holds-barred energy.
🙌 What Could’ve Been?
Although the second Kendrick feature may never surface, fans are already dissecting Let God Sort Em Out bar for bar, with many hailing it as Clipse’s boldest and most cohesive work yet.
And now? The internet is begging for that lost Kendrick verse to leak—or for a deluxe version to give it life.
