Coi Leray is opening up about one of the most difficult chapters of her life — and how she’s turning pain into purpose.
In a new sit-down on The Justin LaBoy Show, the “Players” rapper admitted she regrets going public earlier this year with accusations that Trippie Redd cheated on her while she was pregnant with their daughter.
“I honestly wish I didn’t go public with it,” Coi confessed, explaining that the choice only “created so much more problems… especially with the father of my child.”
Vulnerability in the Spotlight
Coi revealed that being pregnant left her especially exposed and emotional. While she was dealing with betrayal behind the scenes, she said the decision to share that pain publicly only intensified the fallout.
Still, she leaned on her family and close friends for support during the toughest moments. “They gave me the strength to keep moving forward,” she said.
The Pain Behind the Music
Fans who pressed play on Coi’s February project What Happened to Forever? already knew there was more to the story.
She poured raw emotion into her lyrics, addressing heartbreak head-on. On the track “Keep It,” she vented:
“All the times I caught you cheatin’, I should’ve killed you, but now you gon’ have to see this, supposed to be my peace, but broke me right into pieces.”
On “Leave You Alone,” she revealed she once hid a camera to confirm suspicions:
“I had family plans, your plans was cheatin’/Camera in the room, you didn’t know I was creepin.’”
Those records became therapy for Coi — a way to speak her truth, even when she couldn’t say it out loud.
Co-Parenting Comes First
Though her relationship with Trippie has ended, Coi says her focus is entirely on their daughter, Miyoco, born in July.
“We’re co-parents,” she explained. “At the end of the day, regardless of what me and him went through, I just want us to be the best coparents that we can be.”
She admitted there’s no friendship between them anymore, and all communication revolves around raising their baby. For Coi, that separation is necessary — she doesn’t want her daughter to grow up experiencing the kind of strained father-daughter dynamic she once had with her own dad, Benzino.

A New Chapter for Coi
Now single, Coi says she’s “entertaining somebody” but isn’t rushing into anything serious. What matters to her most is peace of mind, clarity, and keeping her priorities in order.
“Motherhood has given me sharper clarity,” she said. “It’s made me more confident in myself and in my artistry.”
Unlike before, fame and money aren’t at the top of her checklist. Instead, she’s focused on growth, balance, and giving Miyoco the best life possible.
Fans React to Coi’s Honesty
Coi’s vulnerable moment quickly sparked conversation online, with many fans praising her maturity:
- “She’s grown so much, you can see motherhood changed her.”
- “Respect to Coi for admitting she regrets going public. That’s not easy to say.”
- “Trippie really fumbled a queen, smh.”
Others noted how rare it is for an artist to admit regret in such a public way — and how that honesty makes her music hit even harder.
What’s Next?
As she navigates co-parenting, heartbreak, and her rising career, Coi Leray seems more grounded than ever. With new music on the horizon and a renewed sense of focus, she’s proving that motherhood isn’t slowing her down — it’s only sharpening her.
“I just want peace. That’s all I want for me and for my daughter,” Coi said.
