Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing two additional sexual assault lawsuits, intensifying his already mounting legal troubles. Filed in New York on Friday, December 20, both cases involve anonymous plaintiffs identified as Jane Doe, with allegations spanning decades—from a tragic 1991 charity basketball event to a 2006 NYC party.
The lawsuits were filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who has recently gained attention for involving JAY-Z in another high-profile case against Diddy.
The 1991 Incident at City College Charity Event
The first lawsuit alleges an assault during a December 1991 charity basketball game at City College, co-hosted by Diddy and Heavy D. The event tragically ended in a stampede that claimed nine lives, but the lawsuit focuses on what allegedly happened before the chaos unfolded.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff traveled to New York for the event, expecting to meet a rapper friend, referred to as “Myers,” possibly a nod to Heavy D. The filing claims Diddy led the woman to a locker room, offered her a drink that left her disoriented, and then assaulted her.
The lawsuit states:
“He told her she needed to stay and that is when she noticed he was touching himself in a suggestive manner. He began to fondle Plaintiff and overpowered her when she struggled. Combs removed her underwear and began molesting her before climbing on top of her and penetrating her.”
After the alleged assault, the plaintiff claims Diddy implied threats to her safety, warning her that “people can come up missing.”
The 2006 NYC Party Incident
In a separate lawsuit, Oklahoma resident LaTroya Grayson accuses Diddy of involvement in an assault during a trip to NYC she won through a radio contest. The prize included an invitation to a “Diddy White Party,” though the event’s schedule and theme reportedly changed multiple times.
Grayson alleges that after consuming “less than two premade drinks” at the party, she lost consciousness and later woke up in a hospital. According to the filing:
“[H]er shirt was ripped, her underwear was missing, she was not wearing any shoes and the money she had traveled with was stolen.”
Upon returning home, she claims she received a threatening call from an unknown woman discouraging her from pursuing legal action, stating Diddy’s celebrity status made it futile.
Diddy’s Legal Team Responds
Diddy’s attorneys issued a strong denial of the allegations, stating:
“Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone or engaged in sex trafficking. Ms. Grayson admits she has no memory of the events alleged in her complaint, does not know who was supposedly involved, and has never spoken to Mr. Combs. Her allegations against him are pure fiction.”
The statement dismissed the lawsuits as “opportunistic fabrications” and reaffirmed Diddy’s trust in the judicial system to separate facts from baseless claims.
Broader Context and Public Reaction
These new allegations follow a series of legal battles for Diddy, adding further scrutiny to his career and personal life. The music mogul, celebrated for his decades-long influence in hip-hop and business, now finds himself at the center of multiple high-stakes lawsuits, prompting significant public and media attention.
As the cases proceed, the industry and fans alike are left to grapple with the implications of these serious allegations.
