Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, the esteemed founder of St. Mary Secondary School Kitende (SMASK), recently commended singer Dax Vibez for his exceptional achievements, recognizing him as one of the finest products to emerge from the school. The praise came during SMASK’s Thanksgiving Ceremony on Sunday, March 16, 2025, where Dax Vibez returned to the school that played a pivotal role in shaping his formative years.

Dax Vibez, whose real name is Tonny Mbangira, joined SMASK in 2008 as a Senior One student, spending six impactful years at the school before completing his Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations. Throughout his time at the school, he proved to be not only a disciplined student but also a strong leader, serving as a prefect three times. His leadership roles included being the Senior One Councillor, Security Minister, and Campus Minister, positions that helped him develop a sense of responsibility and commitment to the community.

A Responsible Student and Role Model for SMASK Students

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mulindwa highlighted Dax Vibez’s exemplary conduct during his school years, emphasizing his dedication to both academics and leadership. He described Dax Vibez as a responsible student who made significant contributions to the school community, and he urged the current students to follow in his footsteps.

“He was a very responsible student. He is one of our finest products, and that’s where I want you to be, so that after you have completed your secondary education, we can trace you,” Dr. Mulindwa said. His words resonated with the students, encouraging them to strive for success and positive contributions both within and beyond the school environment.

He donated Shs2 million to the security department of SMASK, which will be used to support the department’s efforts during the Ramadan period. This act of generosity showcased his commitment to giving back to the institution that played a key role in his upbringing and career.
