Philadelphia Eagles fans lived up to their rowdy reputation Sunday night after their dominant 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs—flooding the streets of Philly and even burning a Kermit the Frog stuffed animal in an over-the-top celebration.
Eagles Fans Troll Patrick Mahomes
A video posted to X (formerly Twitter) captured the fiery spectacle as fans mocked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who struggled during the game, throwing two interceptions. The burning Kermit doll was a direct jab at Mahomes, whose voice has long been compared to the beloved puppet.
As the Kermit doll burned, fans chanted, “F* the Chiefs”**, reveling in the Eagles’ second Super Bowl title.
Patrick Mahomes’ Longstanding Kermit Comparison
The Mahomes-Kermit comparison isn’t new. Back in November, some Bills Mafia fans took things too far, hanging a Kermit puppet dressed like Mahomes from a pole outside their stadium.
After the Chiefs defeated Buffalo in the AFC Championship, Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, clapped back at Bills fans, hoping they would become better people. Chances are, she won’t forget about Eagles fans’ antics either.
Philadelphia Descends into Chaos
The Kermit burning wasn’t the only wild moment of the night. The streets of Philly saw:
- Scuffles with police
- Street signs being stolen
- Looting and reckless celebrations
More Mayhem Expected at Eagles Parade
Philadelphia will have the next few days to recover before the Super Bowl parade on Friday, where more chaotic celebrations are expected.
The City of Brotherly Love, ladies and gentlemen.
