Elon Musk’s estranged father, Errol Musk, is facing harrowing accusations of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren over the course of three decades — the youngest allegedly being just 4 years old at the time.
The claims were uncovered in a New York Times investigation that draws on police and court records, social workers’ reports, family correspondence, and interviews with relatives.
Allegations Stretch Back 30 Years
The earliest known allegation dates back to 1993, when a 4-year-old stepdaughter reportedly told family members that Errol had “touched her at the family house.”
Years later, the same stepdaughter alleged she caught him sniffing her underwear.
As recently as 2023, another family member and social worker attempted to intervene after Errol’s 5-year-old son claimed his father had groped his buttocks, according to the Times.
Multiple Children Involved
The report details allegations that two of Errol’s daughters, a stepson, and other stepchildren were subjected to inappropriate behavior.
While three separate police investigations were reportedly opened over the years, no criminal convictions were ever made. The Times says two cases were closed, while the third remains unresolved.
Elon Musk’s Estranged Relationship
Errol Musk has at least nine children and stepchildren from three marriages. Elon Musk, his most famous child, has long been estranged from him.
The investigation cites a 2010 letter from a family member to Elon, pleading:
“We really need your advice, help and guidance in these matters because we daily see these children suffer.”
The report adds that Elon’s office did respond to some of these cries for help, and that the billionaire provided financial assistance to certain family members over the years.
Errol Musk Responds
When contacted by the New York Times, Errol Musk denied all accusations, dismissing them as:
“False and nonsense in the extreme.”
He admitted to being aware of only one abuse allegation, which he also denied.
A Family Divided
The disturbing claims further highlight the deep estrangement between Elon Musk and his father, whose reputation has long been shadowed by controversy.
While Errol insists on his innocence, the investigation paints a dark picture of generational trauma, silence, and ignored cries for help inside one of the world’s most talked-about families.
As of now, neither Elon nor Errol Musk has issued additional public comment.
