Fat Joe has once again made headlines for his outspoken views, this time addressing two controversial topics during recent interviews. While speaking on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, the rapper criticized Foundation Black American (FBA) groups, labeling them “radical racists” for their exclusionary stance on the Black diaspora.
Fat Joe on FBA Groups
FBA defines itself as representing descendants of enslaved Black Americans who built the United States. However, according to Fat Joe, the group’s exclusivity toward Caribbean and Afro-Latino communities fosters division.
“It’s a group of these guys that don’t want to hear Jamaican, don’t want to hear Guyanese, don’t want to hear a Black guy not down with them, right?” Joe explained. “So, their job is to criticize anybody who doesn’t look like them. Who ain’t Black American. The FBA, whoever these broke n*ggas is. I’m just keeping it a buck. And their mission is to attack everyone on Twitter.”
Joe’s comments sparked immediate reactions online, with some agreeing with his call for unity and others pushing back on his characterization of FBA’s mission.
On Puerto Rican Trump Supporters
Fat Joe also revisited his disdain for Puerto Rican supporters of Donald Trump, a topic he has addressed previously. In November, the Lean Back rapper responded to racist remarks made at a Trump rally by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who referred to Puerto Rico as “garbage.”
“It breaks my heart,” Joe said during an Instagram post addressing the incident. “How the hell are they gonna call Puerto Rico, ‘An island of garbage,’ and when I post on my Instagram, ‘These the guys you voting for?’ and I see Puerto Ricans, ‘No, we’re still for Trump 2024.’ That’s that house n*gga mentality.”
Joe expressed frustration over Latinos, particularly Puerto Ricans, supporting Trump despite derogatory remarks about their heritage. He further criticized this mindset, adding, “That’s a Latino that wishes he was white. Those [are] the guys in the comments…change their voice up [and] try to sound white…Those guys I been fighting my whole life.”
Fat Joe: Never Holding Back
Known for his unfiltered opinions, Fat Joe’s remarks highlight his commitment to calling out issues of division and racism, both within and beyond the Black and Latino communities.
While his comments often ignite debate, they also reflect his passion for fostering unity among marginalized groups. As discussions about race, identity, and politics remain central to public discourse, Joe continues to use his platform to challenge what he perceives as hypocrisy and prejudice.
