A new initiative, ‘Frame The Beat’, is set to transform Uganda’s music video industry by offering aspiring filmmakers hands-on experience and mentorship. Some of the biggest names in the industry—Marvin Musoke, Aaronaire On Set, Edrine Paul, and Simon SPK—have come together to create this exciting opportunity for the next generation of music video directors.

A Game-Changing Initiative

The Frame The Beat Music Video Workshop aims to groom and equip young creatives with the essential skills to excel in music video production. With over five years of combined experience and a track record of producing over 100 music videos with more than 5 million views, these directors have been pivotal in shaping the visual identity of Uganda’s music industry. Now, they are giving back by sharing their expertise.

Workshop Details

  • Workshop Name: Frame The Beat Music Video Workshop
  • Dates: February 17th – 21st, 2025
  • Venue: Cams & Grip Film Studios, Busabala
  • Fees: UGX 100,000 per day (Total UGX 500,000)
  • Annual Event: Plans to expand regionally

Uganda’s music industry has seen tremendous growth, but many young filmmakers face barriers when trying to break into the scene. Frame The Beat is designed to bridge that gap by:

✅ Providing hands-on training from top industry professionals. ✅ Enhancing production quality with cutting-edge skills and techniques. ✅ Creating a network of creatives for future collaborations. ✅ Making filmmaking accessible to young talent, including those from remote areas.

Frame The Beat is not just about learning—it’s about creating lasting impact. The initiative aims to:

🎥 Expand regionally, ensuring young creatives across Uganda have access to top-tier training. 🎥 Provide ongoing mentorship, helping participants even after the workshop ends. 🎥 Raise production standards, setting new benchmarks for Ugandan music videos on the global stage.

This intensive five-day training covers all aspects of creating high-quality music videos:

🎬 The Basics: Understanding what makes a music video stand out. ✍️ Pre-Production: Concept development, scriptwriting, budgeting, and crew management. 📷 Technical Training: Camera work, lighting, sound design, and set creation. 🎭 Production: Directing, working with performers, and solving on-set challenges. 🎞️ Post-Production: Editing, color grading, effects, and optimizing content for digital platforms. 💡 Industry Insights: How to market your work, build a strong portfolio, and succeed in the competitive industry.
