Jamie Foxx made a special appearance at Jason’s Lyric Live over the weekend, enjoying the live adaptation of the beloved film at The Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The Oscar-winning actor attended the show on Saturday with his daughter, Anelise Bishop, and several family members.
A Star-Studded Night
Foxx was personally invited by Tyrin Turner, who reprises his role as Joshua in the play. The actor showed his enthusiasm by purchasing tickets for his family of 10, ensuring they all had a front-row experience.
Throughout the evening, Jamie interacted with fans, greeted the cast during intermission, and posed for photos, bringing his signature energy to the event.
Also in attendance were Jill Marie Jones and Flex Alexander, who are gearing up for their upcoming play Games Women Play, set to debut this spring.
Longtime Friendship & Black History in the Making
Foxx shares a decades-long friendship with Jason’s Lyric director Je’Caryous Johnson, and the two have supported each other’s work for over 25 years. The live adaptation also features Treach reprising his role as Alonzo, showcasing his ability to blend acting with his signature Naughty By Nature vocal control.
