Jay-Z and Roc Nation are ramping up their legal response against attorney Tony Buzbee as their contentious dispute takes a dramatic turn. The latest accusations, filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, allege that Buzbee knowingly transmitted a venereal disease and engaged in abusive behavior during their relationship.
The Allegations Against Buzbee
Court documents reveal that Jane Doe claims to have contracted an STD from Buzbee after an encounter at a Houston hotel in 2018. According to the lawsuit, Buzbee failed to disclose his condition, and when confronted, allegedly pressured her into silence by offering free legal counsel.
The woman also alleges physical abuse, stating that Buzbee shoved a champagne flute into her face during a heated argument while representing her in a divorce case. This incident reportedly resulted in a chipped tooth.
Doe’s lawsuit adds another layer to the ongoing feud between Buzbee and Roc Nation, alleging a pattern of misconduct that extends beyond her own experiences.
Buzbee’s Response
Buzbee has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming they are part of a coordinated smear campaign orchestrated by attorneys connected to Roc Nation and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In a December 19 social media post, Buzbee stated, “The conspiracy to discredit me and intimidate me from pursuing claims in the Diddy litigation has at this point become criminal. This latest case, like the others, is frivolous, laughable, and ridiculous and will be dismissed like the others.”
Buzbee further alleged that the accuser’s lawyer demanded $20 million in exchange for dropping the case, a tactic he described as extortion. He vowed to take legal action against those behind what he perceives as a campaign to tarnish his reputation.
Roc Nation’s Statement
Roc Nation swiftly responded to Buzbee’s accusations, issuing a scathing statement on social media. The company referred to Buzbee as “Mr. 1800” and rejected claims of involvement in his legal troubles.
“Mr. 1800 said today that Roc Nation is criminally responsible for his legal woes with his ex-clients/ex-lover who is accusing him of transmitting venereal diseases, assaulting, falsifying documents, and stealing clients’ money. No and no,” the statement read.
Taking a jab at Buzbee’s frequent use of the phrase “Sunlight is the best disinfectant,” Roc Nation added, “God is behind that sunlight you keep referencing. We are not the source of every sunlight you get but Roc sunshine is coming your way Mr. 1800. Shameful.”
