John Legend is hitting the road! The EGOT winner is celebrating two decades since his debut album Get Lifted with the “Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour.”
Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news, Legend expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m so excited to announce that I’m heading back on the road for the Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour! Join me and my band for an unforgettable performance of the entire Get Lifted album—the album that introduced me to the world—plus a few favorites from my career that all of you know and love.”
Tour Dates and Pre-Sale Information
For fans in the EU and UK, tickets go on sale this Friday, March 21st at 10 AM (local time), with early pre-sale details available through John Legend’s website. North American fans can sign up for pre-sale access at johnlegend.com before tickets drop on Friday, March 28th at 10 AM (local time).
Legend continued, “Let’s celebrate 20 amazing years of Get Lifted together,” and fans can expect to hear a full performance of the album alongside some of his biggest hits.
Celebrating 20 Years of Get Lifted
Released on December 28, 2004, Get Lifted was Legend’s debut album, which earned him critical acclaim and commercial success. At the 48th Annual Grammy Awards, he won eight Grammys, including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for “Ordinary People,” Best R&B Album for Get Lifted, and Best New Artist.
Featuring production from Kanye West and Legend himself, Get Lifted spawned hit singles such as “Used to Love U,” “Ordinary People,” “Number One,” and “So High.”
Special Anniversary Release: Get Lifted (20th Anniversary)
To commemorate the 20th anniversary, Legend is releasing Get Lifted (20th Anniversary), which will include eight new remixes, rare B-sides, and two previously unreleased studio performances recorded two decades ago. Featured artists include Tems, Killer Mike, Lil Wayne, Simi, and Black Thought.
