The High Court’s International Crimes Division has granted bail to Kampala socialite and businessman Nasser Nduhukire, widely known as Don Nasser, who is facing charges of aggravated child trafficking and defilement.

Presiding judge Andrew Bashaija set the cash bail at UGX 3 million on Wednesday, while extending a non-cash bond of UGX 50 million to each of Don Nasser’s four sureties.

Court-Ordered Restrictions

As part of the bail conditions, the court directed Nduhukire to surrender his passport to the registrar, effectively restricting international travel unless explicitly approved by the court.

Allegations Against Don Nasser

The state accuses Nduhukire, alongside co-accused Promise Ateete, of exploiting a 16-year-old girl for sexual purposes. The alleged crimes took place on May 23, 2024, at various locations in Kampala, including Acacia Avenue, Tagore Apartments, Mawanda Road, and Kito Zone in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

Legal Proceedings

The case has attracted significant public attention due to the gravity of the allegations and Don Nasser’s high-profile status as a socialite and businessman. As the legal process unfolds, the court has emphasized the importance of adhering to bail conditions while ensuring a fair trial for the accused.
