Kanye West has hinted at a change of heart in his ongoing feud with longtime collaborator and friend JAY-Z, publicly expressing a desire to make amends.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), West shared,
“All my dreams have been about apologizing to JAY-Z,”
signaling a softer tone compared to his previous online attacks against the rap mogul and his family.
A History of Hurtful Remarks
Earlier this year, West drew widespread backlash after posting a now-deleted message that included offensive and inappropriate comments about JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi and Sir. In the since-deleted post, West used ableist slurs and made derogatory remarks about the children, which caused outrage across social media.
Although he eventually deleted the post, West followed up with a disturbing message, referencing his reasons for removal and continuing with insensitive language.
“I took it down like Down syndrome,” he wrote, further escalating the situation.
Continued Outbursts
Despite taking down the offensive posts, West continued venting online, stating that no one, including JAY-Z, has power over him.
“If Twitter take my sht down then so be it, but I need y’all to know JAY-Z or nobody have no power over me,”* he wrote.
He later reignited the controversy by doubling down on his past statements and questioning the support he receives from fellow celebrities, adding,
“At least JAY-Z and Beyoncé get to raise their kids.”
West also said he regretted removing his earlier tweets.
JAY-Z Remains Silent
To date, JAY-Z has not publicly responded to Kanye’s comments. While West’s recent post indicates a potential willingness to reconcile, it’s unclear whether he intends to apologize privately, issue a more direct public statement, or continue addressing the matter on social media.
Fan Reactions and Next Steps
West’s remarks have drawn mixed reactions online — while some fans hope for a reunion between the two iconic artists, others remain critical of the hurtful language he previously used and question the sincerity of his change in tone.
With JAY-Z choosing to stay silent, the public remains on watch to see if West will follow through with a genuine apology or if this is just another moment in the ongoing turbulence of his online presence.
