Kapere Shares Heart-Wrenching Story of His Childhood and His Journey to Fatherhood

Jokana Mbuuse, famously known as Kapere, a former comedian from Amarula Family, opened up about his difficult upbringing during an emotional appearance on the Mwasuze Mutya show. The father of three shared how his early years were marked by a lack of parental love and support, which shaped his approach to parenting as an adult.

Kapere, who lost his mother when he was just a baby, revealed that he never had the chance to experience the love and care of a mother. His father, who he only met briefly in his childhood, never showed any affection toward him. According to Kapere, the only time he interacted with his father was when he was in primary three, and that encounter was far from warm or supportive.

A Painful Conversation with His Father

During this difficult conversation with his father, Kapere recalls his father threatening him in a chilling manner. “When my dad visited me at my grandmother’s home in Nansana, he told me never to disturb my grandma. If I dared to disturb her, he vowed to kick and beat me to death so that I would follow my mother,” Kapere said, reflecting on the traumatic words that still haunt him. “He said he didn’t love nor want me.”

This conversation, which Kapere described as one of the toughest moments of his childhood, left him feeling unwanted and unloved by both his father and his extended family. His father also made it clear that he didn’t want any responsibility for him, ordering Kapere’s grandparents to take full responsibility for his upbringing.

“I learned that I was not loved by my family and clan. I grew up knowing it,” Kapere shared, describing the emotional pain that came with this harsh reality.

A Childhood Shaped by Grandparents’ Love

Although Kapere didn’t receive affection from his parents, his grandparents stepped in to provide the love and care he so desperately needed. He credits his grandparents for offering him stability and emotional support, despite the challenges they faced. Kapere, who would often take on odd jobs to help his grandparents during tough times, learned the value of hard work and perseverance at a young age.

While his early years were difficult, Kapere’s experience with his grandparents helped him develop a sense of compassion and a deep desire to provide better for his own children. Their love and support became the foundation on which he built his own family values.

Breaking the Cycle: A Father’s Commitment to Love

Kapere’s painful childhood shaped his approach to fatherhood. He vowed to break the cycle of neglect and emotional pain that he experienced, and today, he strives to give his children and wife the love and care he never received.

“Since my parents didn’t show me love, I’ve tried to do everything possible to love my children and wife through all stages of life,” Kapere said. His journey of healing and self-growth has been fueled by his determination to provide a better life for his family and ensure that they never feel the emotional void that he once did.

A Message of Resilience and Hope

Kapere’s story is one of resilience, perseverance, and the power of love to heal past wounds. Despite the hardships of his childhood, he has managed to create a loving home for his own children and is determined to break free from the painful legacy of his past.

His story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of family, love, and the role that positive relationships play in shaping our futures. Kapere’s decision to openly share his experiences will undoubtedly resonate with many who have faced similar struggles and may serve as a source of inspiration for those working to overcome their own personal challenges.
