Lala Kent has spoken out in support of her former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Jax Taylor following his recent admission about his cocaine addiction. During an Amazon Live on Wednesday, Lala, who has also struggled with addiction, expressed her admiration for Jax’s decision to speak candidly about his journey.
Lala said, “That is not easy to admit. This is going to be his journey and his journey only, and he should be the only one to speak on it because none of us know what he’s been through in his life.”
Lala’s Words of Support for Jax’s Sobriety Journey
She emphasized the sensitivity of the subject, adding that she wants “nothing but the best” for Jax as he navigates his sobriety. Lala acknowledged that addiction is unique for each person, stating, “Sobriety for someone, it’s not one size fits all. Everyone has a different level of addiction, but addiction is addiction.”
Jax’s Candid Revelation
On Tuesday, Jax opened up about his addiction on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast, revealing he has struggled with cocaine addiction for most of his life. He explained, “I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it’s a really tough sickness. So to come out and say that I have an addiction and that I have a sickness that I have to work on the rest of my life is a really big deal for me.”
Jax proudly shared that he is now 83 days sober from both cocaine and alcohol. He explained that after a rage episode in front of his son, Cruz, he decided to check himself into rehab for a second time.
Lala Offers Support for Brittany Cartwright
Lala also extended her support to Brittany Cartwright, Jax’s estranged wife, noting, “Brittany is one of my dearest friends. I know a lot. I don’t know what is going to be shown on their new season of The Valley. What I do know is I’m very close with her and anything that we’ve discussed, that is her story to share.”
Lala’s comments reflect the complexity of addiction and the courage required to publicly address such a deeply personal challenge.
