Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has his sights set on winning the highly anticipated Christmas Day matchup against the Houston Texans. But the former NFL MVP is equally thrilled about a different kind of highlight—Beyoncé’s halftime performance.

Breaking with Tradition for “Queen Bey”

Speaking to reporters on Monday, December 23, Jackson expressed his excitement about witnessing Beyoncé perform live for the first time.

“I’m going to go out and watch,” Jackson said, breaking from the usual halftime routine where players head to the locker room. “First time seeing Beyoncé perform and it’s at our game?! That’s dope.”

Apologizing in advance to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, Jackson joked, “Sorry Harbaugh, sorry. Not saying it like that, no disrespect. I know how people can take things.”

Beyoncé’s Return to the NFL Stage

The Christmas Day halftime show marks Beyoncé’s first NFL performance in nearly a decade. In 2013, she headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, delivering one of the most-watched performances in history. She later returned as a guest performer during Coldplay and Bruno Mars’ set at Super Bowl 50.

This time, Beyoncé will take the stage in her hometown of Houston to perform tracks from her latest album, Cowboy Carter, which has already garnered several Grammy nominations for 2025. The set will reportedly feature “special guests” from the album, adding to the anticipation surrounding the performance.

Christmas Day Football Lineup

The Ravens vs. Texans game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium in Houston and will air on Netflix as part of the streamer’s live NFL coverage. Earlier in the day, the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, making for a football-filled holiday celebration.

A Night to Remember

With Lamar Jackson leading the Ravens and Beyoncé lighting up the halftime stage, the Christmas Day game promises to be an unforgettable event. Fans can look forward to a blend of thrilling football action and a historic performance by one of the greatest entertainers of our time.
