Mariah Carey Brings Holiday Cheer to Netflix’s First NFL Game Day

Mariah Carey, the undisputed “Queen of Christmas,” is set to open Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday on December 25 with a dazzling performance of her iconic holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” This marks Netflix’s first foray into the world of sports as part of a three-year partnership with the NFL.

“Fresh off her largest and most spectacular Christmas tour to date, Carey is set to dazzle fans this year…” Netflix announced in a media release.

The song, which has become a modern holiday staple, continues to dominate the charts. It recently reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Holiday 100 chart and landed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a 15th cumulative week, further cementing its enduring popularity.

Mariah Carey on the Longevity of Her Holiday Classic

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Carey reflected on the lasting impact of her beloved Christmas anthem. “It’s really rewarding, and I’m just grateful for it,” she shared. “For all the people that come up and say, ‘I love your music,’ or, ‘I listen to your Christmas music in July.’— That started to become a thing. I’ve always wanted to do this for my life, and so now we get to do it.”

NFL Christmas Day Schedule and Netflix’s Partnership

Carey’s performance will kick off the highly anticipated Christmas Day games, which are part of a historic deal between Netflix and the NFL. The streaming giant secured a three-year agreement, worth approximately $150 million, to air at least one NFL holiday game annually through 2026. Along with Netflix, the games will also be broadcast on CBS affiliates in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Houston, and available on NFL+ for mobile devices in the U.S.

The NFL Christmas Gameday will feature two exciting matchups:

  • 4:30 p.m. EST: Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans

Adding to the star-studded event, Netflix announced that Beyoncé will take the stage during halftime of the Ravens-Texans game in her hometown of Houston, further elevating the holiday festivities.
