Michael B. Jordan Shows Support for Jonathan Majors’ Comeback in ‘Magazine Dreams’
Michael B. Jordan is continuing to show unwavering support for his Creed III co-star Jonathan Majors as he returns to the big screen. On February 4, Jordan, 37, shared the trailer for Magazine Dreams on his Instagram Stories, complementing it with two applause emojis and three fire emojis. The upcoming film will mark Majors’ first leading role since starring alongside Jordan in Creed III.
Majors, 35, played Damian Anderson, a childhood friend of Jordan’s character, Adonis Creed, who re-enters his life after serving time in prison. Creed III, which also marked Jordan’s directorial debut, was one of several high-profile projects that helped position Majors as one of Hollywood’s rising stars. Early 2023 saw him appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel’s Loki, and Magazine Dreams, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
A Career in Flux: Majors’ Legal Troubles
However, Majors’ career took a sharp turn in March 2023 when he was arrested in New York City following an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In December, a jury delivered a split verdict, convicting him of misdemeanor assault and harassment, but acquitting him of two other charges. Majors was subsequently ordered to complete a domestic violence intervention program.
As a result of his legal troubles, Majors was dismissed from his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he had been set to appear in multiple upcoming Avengers films. In November 2024, Jabbari dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against Majors, with both parties agreeing to dismiss all claims.
Continued Bond Between Jordan and Majors
Despite the legal setbacks, the bond between Jordan and Majors remains strong. During the promotion of Creed III, Majors referred to Jordan as his “brother” and honored him at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in March 2023, just weeks before his arrest. Jordan has also continued to praise Majors, even suggesting that Majors should be a contender for PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive.
Jonathan Majors in Magazine Dreams
In Magazine Dreams, Majors plays Killian Maddox, a bodybuilder whose obsession with perfection leads him down a lonely and regimented path, ultimately driving him toward self-destruction in search of human connection. The film, set for release on March 21, will be Majors’ first major role since his last appearance in Loki on Disney+ in 2023.
In addition to Magazine Dreams, Majors is reportedly attached to Merciless, a revenge thriller directed by Martin Villeneuve, which will be his first project since his conviction.
