Myles Garrett might just be a tryout away from becoming a two-sport athlete. The Cleveland Browns defensive end caught Ice Cube’s attention, and the rap legend—co-founder of the BIG3 three-on-three basketball league—told TMZ Sports he’d love to see Garrett give hoops a shot.
The conversation came after Garrett’s brother, Sean Williams, played for the Miami 305 in last week’s BIG3 Championship. When asked by Rachel Nichols if he could see himself suiting up for the league, Garrett teased that he’d be open to testing his basketball skills. Ice Cube’s response? A resounding yes—but with one caveat: he has to go through the official tryout process like everyone else.
Cube’s Take on Garrett’s Potential
“It ain’t as easy as it looks, but of course … I think he’ll be a big body, great player,” Cube told TMZ.
He added, “We’d love to see him, man. Tell him to come and try out.”
At 6’4″ and 272 pounds, Garrett has the physical tools to make an impact on the court, and Cube clearly believes his combination of size, athleticism, and competitive drive could translate to BIG3 success.

Garrett’s Basketball Background
The Texas native isn’t entirely new to the hardwood. Before excelling on the football field and track, Garrett played basketball in high school and has shown off his skills at pro events.
- During Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League warm-ups, Garrett wowed fans with a two-handed windmill dunk.
- His athleticism in football as a former NFL Defensive Player of the Year translates well to basketball’s fast-paced, physical style.
Even so, Garrett’s basketball dreams might be on hold for now, as he recently signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Cleveland Browns in March 2025.
Could BIG3 Be in Garrett’s Future?
While Garrett’s football career is still in full swing, fans can’t help but imagine what a crossover into basketball could look like. With Ice Cube personally inviting him to try out, a future in the BIG3 isn’t just fantasy—it’s a real possibility once his NFL commitments allow.
Whether he sticks to football for the near future or eventually tests his skills in the BIG3, one thing is clear: Myles Garrett is a powerhouse athlete capable of dominating on multiple stages.
