Zion Williamson Sued for Alleged Rape, Abuse, and Kidnapping by Woman Claiming to Be His Former Girlfriend
NBA star Zion Williamson has been hit with a bombshell lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she endured years of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse during a secret relationship that began in 2018.
Filed anonymously under the name Jane Doe in Los Angeles on Thursday, the lawsuit includes allegations of rape, kidnapping, and repeated assaults carried out by the 24-year-old New Orleans Pelicans forward.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the plaintiff states she began dating Williamson in 2018 while he was still playing college basketball at Duke University.
Allegations of Sexual Assault and Physical Abuse
The lawsuit outlines multiple alleged incidents, including two specific dates in 2020:
- Sept. 23, 2020:
The woman claims she visited Williamson at his Beverly Hills home. When she said she was tired and wanted to sleep, Williamson allegedly insulted her, pinned her down, and sexually assaulted her. She also claims he took her phone, threw it across the room, and then choked her while appearing intoxicated. - Oct. 10, 2020:
Another alleged rape occurred after the plaintiff expressed a desire to visit friends in San Diego. The woman claims Williamson confiscated her phone and laptop after the assault, preventing her from seeking medical help.
The lawsuit asserts these were not isolated events, alleging Williamson committed similar acts of abuse and rape in California, Louisiana, and Texas between 2020 and 2023.
Disturbing Allegations of Threats and Violence
The woman further alleges:
- Williamson strangled her multiple times, causing her to lose consciousness.
- He allegedly threatened to have his security guard shoot her in the head and even threatened harm to her parents.
- In one 2022 incident, he allegedly pointed a loaded gun at her head in Louisiana.
- She claims he often kicked, hit, and beat her, sometimes imprisoning her in vehicles to prevent escape.
She states these events occurred while Williamson was allegedly under the influence of alcohol or cocaine.
Plaintiff’s Legal Team Speaks Out
Attorney Sam E. Taylor of The Lanier Law Firm, representing Jane Doe, issued a statement to TMZ Sports:
“We don’t want to litigate this case in the media. But I will say this is a very serious case as reflected in the pleadings that have been filed, and our client looks forward to her day in court to seek justice in this matter.”
Williamson’s Team Yet to Respond
As of now, no public statement has been released by Zion Williamson or his representatives regarding the lawsuit.
The case comes as a major shock to fans and the NBA community, as Williamson has largely maintained a public image centered on sports performance and brand partnerships.
What’s Next?
The lawsuit could lead to a prolonged legal battle, potentially impacting Williamson’s career and reputation. No criminal charges have been reported at this time, but the civil case is expected to proceed in Los Angeles courts.
