Offset is opening up about the future of Migos — and hinting that a tribute project for Takeoff may still be on the horizon.
The rapper stopped by The Ebro Show on Apple Music 1 ahead of the release of his upcoming solo album Kiari. While there, he revealed that the idea of making new music with Quavo — specifically a joint tribute album for their late bandmate and cousin Takeoff — isn’t completely off the table.
“It’s possible,” Offset admitted. “It’s [definitely] possible. No conversations about that tho’, but it’s possible.”
For now, Offset says both he and Quavo are focused on building their solo careers while keeping their bond strong. “We just building us first,” he explained. “Checking in with each other, seeing each other’s world, like, ‘You good?, You good?’”
Family Over Everything
Despite years of tension, Offset made it clear that his bond with Quavo runs deeper than industry drama.
“That’s family at the end of the day,” he said during a recent appearance on the 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast. “You’re gonna bump heads with your family sometimes. At the end of the day, a na ain’t finna play with him, or a na ain’t finna play with me.”
A Complicated History
The rift between Offset and Quavo dates back to 2022, when rumors spread that Offset had hooked up with Quavo’s then-girlfriend, Saweetie. Many believed the drama led to the Migos’ split.
Things only worsened after Takeoff’s tragic death in November 2022. By the 2023 Grammys, the cousins’ feud spilled into public view when reports surfaced of a backstage scuffle over Takeoff’s tribute performance.
But in the months since, the two have reconciled. Offset revealed that he and Quavo now talk at least once a week. “It be the internet trying to do some old sh*t,” he said. “But with us, it ain’t about that. Like, we holla at each other.”
What’s Next?
Offset’s solo album Kiari is set to drop soon, but fans are already buzzing about the possibility of him and Quavo reuniting in the studio to honor Takeoff.
Whether or not the rumored tribute album comes to life, it’s clear the cousins are committed to keeping Takeoff’s legacy alive — together.
