Florida rapper Plies has announced he’s done following the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial — and it’s all because of a surprising witness testimony.
Taking to Instagram, Plies shared his reaction to one of the prosecution’s witnesses, a male escort who revealed his nickname as “The Punisher.” That nickname, Plies said, is his signature moniker, and hearing it used by someone else made him decide to stop tuning in.
“I don’t know if y’all keeping up with the trial sh*t… After yesterday, I said, ‘I ain’t watching it no motherfking more,’” Plies said in a video. “They called one of the witnesses… I guess one of the motherfking male escorts that they called out to the motherf**king hall.”
“He get on the stand yesterday, and they asked him his motherfking name. … He said his nickname is the Punisher. He said his motherfking nickname is the Punisher! And the reason this shit threw me off, that’s my motherfking nickname,” he continued, laughing. “I said, ‘Goddamn, he’s trying to steal my name.’ I thought I was the only motherfking Punisher out here.”
Plies joked about feeling like he’d been accidentally caught up in the trial. “I’m thinking they indicted me! Ain’t no motherfking way he is trying to steal my name … There’s only one motherfking Punisher out here, man! And it ain’t you.”
The witness Plies referred to is Sharay Hayes, who testified about his involvement in a 2012 encounter at Trump Tower in New York City with Diddy and singer Cassie Ventura. Hayes described being asked to help create a “sexy scene” which included spreading baby oil on each other. He said he was paid between $800 and $2,000 for several such encounters.
