The Hoima police have dispelled viral social media claims suggesting that Bison Katantazi, popularly known as Captain Ricky of the renowned Ebonies group, was fatally shot in town.
Julius Hakiza, the spokesperson for the Albertine Region Police, has firmly refuted the rumors. “No shooting incidents have been reported in Hoima,” Hakiza stated, labeling the allegations as baseless and urging the public to rely on verified information.
The rumors began spreading on Thursday morning, causing widespread concern among fans and netizens. Social media posts, allegedly from members of the Ebonies group, further fueled the panic by claiming that Captain Ricky had been shot.
Adding another layer of speculation, unverified reports emerged yesterday suggesting that Captain Ricky is alive and hiding in Kalangala. Some sources allege he faked his death to escape mounting debts, though no concrete evidence has been provided to support these claims.
