Taylor Swift is officially back in control of her original recordings — and she’s celebrating the milestone with music, friendship, and a bit of feline flair.
On Friday evening, Swift’s longtime friend and producer Jack Antonoff shared a heartwarming (and now viral) clip of the pop icon singing along to “Getaway Car” in a kitchen, moments after sealing the deal to regain her masters.
Swift and Antonoff Jam Out in Celebration
In the video, Taylor can be seen clutching her beloved cat Meredith as she dramatically lip-syncs the lyrics to the fan-favorite track from her 2017 Reputation album. When she hits the line, “Put the money in a bag and I stole the keys,” she belts it out with emotion before shouting, “That was the last time you ever saw me!”
Jack captioned the video:
“Rep forever guilt-free listening!”
Swifties across the globe instantly flooded the post with love, sending the video into viral territory with millions of views within hours.
A Victory Years in the Making
Earlier the same day, Taylor published an emotional letter confirming she now owns the rights to her entire music catalog, following the finalization of a deal to purchase her masters from Shamrock Capital.
The move brings closure to a years-long legal and public battle over her original recordings, which were controversially sold to Scooter Braun in 2019 without her consent, and later transferred to Shamrock.
Scooter Braun Reacts
Despite their past feud, Braun responded with a surprisingly positive statement, telling TMZ, “I’m happy for her.”
Moving Forward, On Her Own Terms
Now with her masters officially in her possession, Taylor Swift is embracing full control of her legacy — and doing it with joy, friendship, and the support of her devoted fanbase.
From viral kitchen sing-alongs to emotional letters, it’s clear: this moment belongs to Taylor.
