Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter were shot and killed Monday morning at a car wash in what has been described as a senseless attack, just as their post-birthday celebrations were about to begin. The heartbreaking details were shared by the artist’s videographer, Mello Vision, to TMZ Hip Hop.
Unanswered Questions Surrounding the Murder
Mello, who has shot numerous music videos and content for Ronnie, expressed confusion over the murders, stating that if there had been any threat to Ronnie’s life, he would have sensed it since they often worked together in the same locations.
Mello explained that Ronnie had spent a late night on March 2, followed by an early morning on March 3, intending to have quality time with his daughter before the tragic shooting occurred.
The Father-Daughter Bond
Despite a busy schedule that frequently conflicted with plans to shoot a music video, Mello recalled how Ronnie always made sure to make time for his daughter. During a business trip to California in December, Ronnie spent some of his free time shopping for his daughter, picking out clothes and shoes for her.
No Known Motives for the Crime
Mello also mentioned that Ronnie, known for bragging about being the biggest gambler in the city, enjoyed shooting dice but didn’t have any outstanding debts that would have explained the attack.
Suspects on the Run
At a press conference, police have labeled two suspects as “stone-cold cowards” as the investigation continues. While Mello has not heard of these individuals, he is demanding justice for his friend.
Additionally, Shamon Jones, the grieving mother of R’Mani, Ronnie’s daughter, set up a GoFundMe after scammers began exploiting the deaths of Ronnie and his daughter for financial gain.
As the investigation unfolds, the community is left mourning the loss of a beloved artist and his young child.
