On Friday (May 30), Teyana Taylor released a teaser trailer for her highly anticipated project, Escape Room, which will include both an album and a short film. Set for release in August 2025, the visual and musical experience promises to transport fans into an intense, surreal world of Teyana’s creation.
The nearly two-minute teaser opens with a wedding scene featuring Lakeith Stanfield, followed by an intimate kiss between Taylor and her real-life partner, Aaron Pierre. The trailer also includes striking visuals of Taylor engulfed in flames and strapped to a bed while appearing robotic—hinting at a storyline packed with emotional depth and symbolism.
A Dual Artistic Vision: Music Meets Film
Escape Room represents a new artistic chapter for Taylor, blending cinematic storytelling with her signature music style. Fans can expect a bold, genre-defying release that showcases her versatility not only as a musician but also as a director and performer.
Legal Drama Intensifies: Taylor Responds to Shumpert’s Claims
Meanwhile, Taylor is also making headlines for her ongoing divorce battle with ex-NBA star Iman Shumpert. Earlier this month, Shumpert filed a motion alleging that Taylor violated the terms of their divorce agreement—accusing her of insulting him in front of their children and causing emotional distress.
In the motion, Shumpert claimed Taylor’s behavior, including “crude and inflammatory racial insults,” unfairly placed their daughters, Junie and Rue Rose, in the role of peacekeepers between feuding parents.
Taylor has since filed a response, firmly denying all accusations. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, she refuted claims that she damaged Shumpert’s public image or finances through online activity. She also denied removing their children from school or limiting his access to them.
Taylor is now asking the court to dismiss Shumpert’s petition, asserting that his allegations are baseless and not supported by facts.
