Renowned actress Fauziah Nakiboneka, a celebrated member of The Ebonies, recently opened up about her inspiring educational journey and her thoughts on venturing into politics.
A Journey of Resilience and Triumph
Fauziah recounted the challenges she faced during her early school years, marked by frequent school changes and occasional class skipping in lower primary. Despite these hardships, she excelled in her Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E), scoring an impressive 12 aggregates—a feat she still marvels at.
In high school, Fauziah continued to shine, achieving 18 aggregates in the Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E). Her exceptional performance placed her among the top four female students in her school, earning admiration from her teachers.
A Surprising Career Choice
Her Deputy Head Teacher, Mr. Ssenkumba, envisioned a political future for Fauziah, comparing her potential to that of Rebecca Kadaga. However, Fauziah chose drama over politics, much to her teachers’ surprise.
“When I visited my former school, our Deputy, Mr. Ssenkumba, said he thought he was grooming another Kadaga, but I ended up in drama with my good grades. He was disappointed,” Fauziah revealed.
Thoughts on Politics
When asked if she has any intentions of joining politics, Fauziah expressed mixed feelings. While she acknowledged the trend of artists transitioning into politics, she admitted her dislike for the field.
“I can still achieve the dream of becoming a politician because so many artists have crossed to that side, but I hate politics,” she said.
Inspiration Through the Arts
Fauziah’s journey serves as a testament to perseverance and the power of following one’s passion. Her story continues to inspire fans and fellow artists alike, highlighting the value of resilience and self-determination.
