Tina Knowles Shares Heartfelt Reaction to Beyoncé’s Historic Grammy Wins for ‘Cowboy Carter’
Tina Knowles couldn’t be prouder of her daughter, Beyoncé, after the superstar’s major wins at the 2025 Grammy Awards. In an exclusive sneak peek from today’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, Knowles shared her surprise and excitement upon hearing that Beyoncé had taken home the coveted trophies for Best Country Album and Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter.
A Moment of Shock and Joy
Recalling the moment, Tina Knowles shared that she had been at Beyoncé’s house, helping her daughter and granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter get ready for the ceremony. “I was just not expecting it — I was really, really shocked,” Knowles admitted. Even Beyoncé herself seemed taken aback when she won Best Country Album, with Knowles adding, “I was sitting there with my granddaughter Rumi and my grandson Sir, and for a second, we were just sitting there, and then when she did this,” mimicking Beyoncé’s stunned reaction, she continued, “I said, ‘Oh, it’s real!’ I couldn’t believe it.”
A Long-Awaited First Win for Beyoncé
This victory marked Beyoncé’s first-ever Album of the Year Grammy win, despite having multiple nominations over the years. Knowles confessed that this win was particularly surprising because of the numerous times she’d thought Beyoncé would win in the past but hadn’t. It was also a major win for Cowboy Carter, which had been unexpectedly shut out at the CMA Awards earlier in the year.
Blue Ivy’s Quick Reaction: A Boss in the Making
Tina Knowles also shared a funny moment involving Blue Ivy’s reaction to her mom’s Grammy win. “It was funny because then they show Blue… and Beyoncé is sitting like this and Blue is saying ‘get up,’” Knowles laughed, mimicking her granddaughter’s bossy tone. “They call her the manager. She’s a bossy little Capricorn like her grandma.”
